WEST FARLEIGH SPORTS CLUB
MINUTES OF THE CLUB AGM
Tuesday 9th June 8pm start – Virtual zoom meeting
Present: Paul Baines, Gary French, Ian Pearce, David Gilliver, Karim Habibi, Steve Whitehead, Jack Irwin-Smith, Richard Ward, Jason Sadler, Jack Matthews, Darren Latter, Jon Beck, Michael Harold, Aron Bell, Jake Fitzpatrick, Andy Starr, Alan Smith, Kevin Shilling, Terry Baines, Trevor Goldhagen, Darren McGrath
Apologies: Ian Prideaux, Ian Payne
The end of the football season was curtailed by the Covid-19 pandemic but there were some good results. The club is in a very healthy condition and thanks to those who volunteer their time for their help. This won’t be the case for many clubs.
Gary confirmed that the club had made a profit over the year, thanks mainly to the fireworks. A very stable year with little change from the year before. The golf day takings are down slightly due to poor attendance and the fines issued by the Ashford League have made an impact. Other ‘exceptional’ items of expenditure are the repairs to the cricket pavilion and the erection of the football dugouts.
Baino stated that a copy of the accounts are available to any member on request.
The following officers were happy to continue in their posts and, as no new nominations were put forward, were nominated as a group, seconded and unanimously voted in.
President – Stephen Norman
Chairman – Paul Baines
Vice-Chairman – Ian Pearce
Secretary – David Gilliver
Treasurer – Gary French
Baino did mention that Gary would be stepping down after this year, and that he would also be thinking about stepping aside having served his 5 years.
Vice-Presidents
Richard Ward was nominated by Marcus Lowe and Karim Habibi. Vote carried unanimously.
Eimal and Stoffel, from Ringstedt, were already made VPs during the year and were confirmed unanimously. Lars being made a life member of the club – also carried unanimously.
Gary confirmed that as the sporting income and sporting expenditure were the same, the annual subscription of £25 should remain the same - to be collected in the same manner - £2 on top of weekly match taxes.
Terry requested that anyone who owes for the ‘Ton-up club’ please pay.
End of this part of the meeting – 8.30pm.
